 MENSAJE DESDE DOS RÍOS

Si usted no ha ido recientemente a la zona de "Dos Ríos" en Cosón (dónde está el restaurante de Valerio), le podría resultar más difícil entender el "mensaje" de lo que está haciendo el mar.

El mar se ha "entrado", casi está unido al río que surge de entre los manglares frente a Viva Windham y Sublime Samaná y varias líneas de cocoteros han sucumbido a sus olas. El restaurante de Valerio es un ejercicio visible de malabarismo.

Esa zona no dispone de una línea de coral natural y el mar abierto produce las consecuencias del incremento en los niveles de agua por consecuencia, según dicen muchos científicos, del calentamiento global.

Muchos pensarían que eso no va a ocurrir en la playa del pueblo. Bueno, el mensaje desde Dos Ríos es "voy pa dentro". Pero, parece no importarle a nadie y de hecho, cientos (miles???) de comunitarios han decidido darle la bienvenida al mar y lo van a celebrar con más de 250 millones de pesos invertidos para que el mar se los trague en El Pueblo de los Pescadores. Como no son los cuartos de nadie no duele perderlos así. Es más, si el mar de los traga esos mismos comunitarios reclamarán que se vuelva a hacer lo mismo porque esa es "la tradición y la cultura de Las Terrenas" (perdonen mi sarcasmo).

Ya están vaceando concreto y armando varillas sin los permisos ambientales correspondientes y a mi, estúpido que soy, se me ocurrió que quizás a alguien de conciencia que se haya dado cuenta de lo que está pasando podría comenzar a motivar a los mismos comunitarios para que pidan al MITUR que suspendan los trabajos y que coloquen esos 250 millones en otro sitio. De otra forma, cuando el mar se trague los 250 millones sabremos a quienes irles a reclamar!

Esas son ideaciones mías, claro. Pero el mensaje desde Dos Ríos sigue vigente. ¿Qué piensan ustedes? Les doy permiso a insultarme si quieren.

Many would think that this is not going to happen on the town beach. Well, the message of the sea from Dos Ríos is "I'm going in". But, nobody seems to care and in fact, hundreds (thousands???) of community members have decided to give the sea a warm welcome of sorts, celebrating with a "gift" of more than 250 million pesos invested in something that the sea plans to swallow up in the area known as El Pueblo de los Pescadores. Since they are not funds from anyone's pockets, it appears that it would not hurt to lose them so. In fact, if the sea swallows up 250M, those same community members will demand that the same thing be built again because that is "the tradition and culture of Las Terrenas" (pardon my sarcasm).

Builders are already pouring concrete and assembling rods at the site without the corresponding environmental permits and it occurred to me, stupid that I am, that perhaps some conscientious person who has realized what is happening could actually begin to motivate the community members themselves to ask from the Ministry of Tourism the cancellation of the existing rebuilding plans, and to invest the 250 million pesos (approx. $45M) at another site. Otherwise, when the sea swallows up the 250 million pesos we will know who to blame!

Those are my ideas, of course. But the message from Dos Ríos is still valid. What do you think? I give you permission to insult me ​​if you want.
