La actual es una clara política de explotación pura y simple, con una extremadamente mínima atención puesta a la sostenibilidad.
En filosofía hablamos de tres caminos hacia el conocimiento: experiencia, testimonio y razonamiento.
La experiencia dice, "mis sentidos me indican que esta es la verdad", experiencia de primera mano; el testimonio dice "fulano lo dijo y es una persona creíble", o "tal libro lo dice y es escritura con autoridad"; mientras que la razón dice "esa es la forma lógica de hacerlo", o "las evidencias así lo señalan".
Cada enfoque tiene sus fortalezas y sus debilidades y en el proceso de arribar a una respuesta a la pregunta "qué es verdad?" probablemente necesitemos más de un proceso.
Cuando ponemos todos nuestros huevos en el canasto de la "autoridad" (MITUR, empresariado turístico, inversionistas), ¿a quién o a qué le creemos?
Sea el Pueblo de los Pescadores, o Blu, o Reef o la terminal de cruceros, estamos llamados a escoger una acción como "la verdad" y la verdad siempre es lo mejor, ¿no?
A veces, aunque el proceso de toma de decisiones obvía toda lógica, razonamiento o conocimiento, decidimos a favor de lo que sentimos (o de lo que otros sienten).
Algunos son maestros en la manipulación de los sentimientos y echan por la borda cualquier otro proceso que pueda revelar lo contrario a lo que sienten o piensan.
Pero, ¿qué pasa si cuestionamos a la autoridad o al proceso de arribar a la verdad? Algunos nunca cuestionan, otros lo cuestionamos todo. Algunos son veletas que las mueve el viento, otros son un muro de contención. Otros ni siquiera saben qué pensar pero con el estómago lleno cualquiera nos pone una nariguera y algunos la tienen de oro.
Pero al final de todo, cuando todo es dicho y hecho, lo que nos queda es la pregunta, ¿qué hemos hecho con los recursos frágiles, perecederos, destructibles e impermanentes llamados "recursos naturales", los que se suponen hereden las futuras generaciones?
Porque una cosa es cierta, todo es asunto de explotar lo que hay y hay formas destructivas y formas sostenibles.
Entonces, utiliza tu experiencia, tu razón y los testimonios a tu alcance y responde a la pregunta: ¿qué está pasando en Xamaná con los recursos naturales?
Si por casualidad tu hermenéutica (interpretación) te lleva a concluir que lo que ocurre es "nada bueno", entonces responde a la pregunta más importante, ¿qué puedo y qué debo hacer?
Xamaná necesita urgentemente de ciudadanos dispuestos a quitarse la nariguera de la apatía, la ignorancia, el clientelismo o el dinero para que podamos garantizarle a las generaciones futuras lo que tenemos hoy que está desapareciendo rápido.

We are making a colorful but bland omelette with tourist "exploitation", when most of the actors still do not know what they are going to do with the shells.
The current tourism development policy is a clear exploitation policy outright, with extremely minimal attention paid to sustainability.
In philosophy we speak of three paths to knowledge: experience, testimony and reasoning.
Experience says, "my senses tell me this is the truth," first-hand experience; the testimony says "so-and-so said it and is a credible person", or "such a book says it and it is authoritative writing"; while reason says "that's the logical way to do it", or "the evidence points to it".
Each approach has its strengths and weaknesses, and in the process of arriving at an answer to the question "what is true?" we probably need more than one process.
When we put all our eggs in the basket of the "authority" (MITUR, tourism business, investors), who or what do we believe?
Whether it's El Pueblo de los Pescadores, or Blu, or Reef, or the cruise ship terminal, we're called to choose an action as "the truth" and the truth is always best, right?
Sometimes, even though the decision-making process bypasses all logic, reasoning, or knowledge, we decide in favor of what we feel (or what others feel).
Some are masters at manipulating feelings and throw overboard any other process that might reveal the opposite of what they feel or think.
But what if we question authority or the chosen process of arriving at truth? Some never question, others question everything. Some are weather vanes that are easily moved by the wind, others are a retaining wall. Others don't even know what to think but with a full stomach anyone puts a nose ring on us and some have it made of gold.
But at the end of it all, when all is said and done, what we are left with is the question, what have we done with the fragile, perishable, destructible and impermanent resources called "natural resources", which future generations are supposed to inherit?
Because one thing is certain, everything is a matter of exploiting what is there and there are destructive ways and sustainable ways.
So, use your experience, your reason and the testimonies available to you and answer the question: what is happening in Xamaná with natural resources?
If by any chance your hermeneutics (interpretation) leads you to conclude that what is going on is "no good", then answer the more important question, what can and should I do?
Xamaná urgently needs citizens willing to remove the nose ring of apathy, ignorance, patronage or money so that we can guarantee future generations what we have today that is fast disappearing.
